BLUESIGN THE BLUE WAY by BLUESIGN represents the vision and mindset of responsible and sustainable manufacturing of textile consumer products. BLUESIGN is a system that provides safer and more sustainable environments for people to work in and everyone to live in. Powered by a holistic approach, BLUESIGN traces each textile’s path along the manufacturing process, making improvements at every stage from factory floor to finished product. BLUESIGN changes the environmental impact of textiles for good. As a solution provider and knowledge broker, BLUESIGN acts as an independent verifier to secure trust and transparency. Corresponding to this approach, BLUESIGN encourages the industry to increase their efforts in sustainable processes step by step. |
The Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) was developed by leading standards producers to define globally recognized requirements for organic textiles. From raw material harvesting, environmentally and socially responsible manufacturing, to labelling, GOTS certified textiles offer a credible consumer guarantee. |
The Global Recycle Standard (GRS) was originally developed by Control Union Certifications in 2008, and ownership was transferred to Textile Exchange on January 1, 2011. GRS is an international, voluntary standard, entirely dedicated to products that defines the requirements for outsourced certification of recycled material, chain of custody, social and environmental practices and chemical restrictions. |
Recycled Claim Standard RCS is used as a chain of custody standard to track recycled raw materials through the supply chain. According to the label, the RCS offers two varieties of logos: RCS 100 (minimum content of recycled material of 95%) or mixed RCS (minimum content of recycled material of 5%). The standard was developed through the work carried out by the Material Traceability Working Group, part of the OIA Sustainability Working Group. |
Recycled Claim Standard The Responsible Wool Standard (RWS) requires all sites, from the wool producers to the seller in the final business-to-business transaction, to be certified. RWS farmers and ranchers must meet animal welfare, land management and social requirements. |
If a textile article bears the STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® label, it is certain that all components of this article, that is, all threads, buttons and other accessories, have been tested for the presence of harmful substances and that it is harmless in human ecological terms. |
Developed by the Sustainable Apparel Coalition, the Higg Index is a set of tools that allows brands, retailers and facilities of all sizes - at all stages of their sustainability journey - to accurately measure and score a company's sustainability performance or product. The Higg Index provides a holistic view that empowers companies to make significant improvements that protect the well-being of factory workers, local communities and the environment. |
ISO 9001 - Quality Management System The ISO 9001 standard is an international reference for the Certification of Quality Management Systems. This certification recognizes the organization's efforts to ensure the conformity of its products and/or services, customer satisfaction and continuous improvement. The main objective of the ISO 13485 standard is to facilitate the application of harmonized legal requirements relating to medical devices for quality management systems. Impetus produces and markets ProtechDry, which is considered a class I medical device. This product is a common undergarment intended for people suffering from mild urinary incontinence. |
The Better Cotton Initiative (BCI) - a global non-profit organization - is the largest cotton sustainability program in the world. Together with their partners, they provide training on more sustainable agricultural practices to more than 2.3 million cotton producers in 23 countries.
